Another UnEventful Fund Raiser
Since 2012, the East Haven Unity Fund has awarded scholarships each year to graduating East Haven High School students of Latino heritage who excelled in high school and pursued higher education. We traditionally held our main fund-raising event each May, until last year’s annual gathering was canceled due to the COVID public health emergency. Despite improving conditions, caution dictated that we also refrain from planning an in-person event this spring.
But local students’ need for our
help continues, and the need has only increased for families suffering the
negative economic impacts of the pandemic.
It is more important than ever to show graduating local high school
students that their community stands behind them, as they begin the next
chapter of their lives in a changed world.
For these reasons we announce our second “UnEventful Fund Raiser.” Once again, no gathering will occur, but we hope that the neighborly generosity that has sustained the Unity Fund for so long - even last year during the worst of the pandemic - will continue.
No tickets. No suggested donation amounts. No drinks, hors d’oeuvres, or speeches.
No Event. Just a simple request to donate what you can, if you can. To do so, please print the attached flyer and mail it with your donation, or visit our web page at www.ehunityfund.org, click on the “Uneventful Fund Raiser” tab, and follow the instructions.
